The first half of the Budget session ended on Thursday, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla calling it “productive” and thanking the members for their cooperation. The second half of the session will commence on March 10.
Before adjourning the House, Birla said the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s joint address lasted for 17.23 hours, with the participation of 173 members, while the general discussion on the Union Budget lasted for 16.13 hours with speeches by 170 members. “The productivity in this session was around 112%,” he said.
