To celebrate trailblazing women and highlight their stories of change, innovation, and impact, TOI, in collaboration with GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, hosted ‘Shevolution.’ Held on March 20 in Greater Noida, the event showcased inspiring journeys of perseverance and transformation. Here’s a look at the thought-provoking discussions and unforgettable moments that made Shevolution a true celebration of empowerment.
During her address, Anshu Agarwal, Managing Trustee at GL Bajaj Educational Institutions Greater Noida and Mathura, emphasized the significance of women in leadership roles. She said, “GL Bajaj has many women employees in management, research, and teaching roles. Our female force is enhancing every position with their capabilities and is taking this institution to new heights of success.”
Actor Shweta Tripathi and President of the People’s Arm Wrestling Federation India Preeti Jhangiani shared their thoughts during a panel discussion on ‘Women, Ambition and Breaking Barriers’. Talking about her journey from from film industry to arm wrestling, Preeti Jhangiani highlighted how women are constantly challenging stereotypes. She said, “If you look at my personal journey, my family is not from the film industry background, getting into modeling and film was a completely unconventional choice for me. And then, from acting now into sports that also in the male dominated sports of arm wrestling…..we are now the only league in the world with women, men and specially abled on the same stage.”
Shweta Tripathi discussed her career in films and offered an important piece of advice. She stated, “Work on yourself. If we become same like everyone else then there is a product. What is your USP….If you are true to yourself you will shine. you can do it.”
A key highlight of Shevolution was an all-women panel featuring yoga expert Ira Trivedi, nutritionist Dr Ishi Khosla and economist Sanchita Mukherjee. Speaking on women’s strength and resilience, Dr. Ishi Khosla highlighted that women are often conditioned to believe they are not good enough, but in reality, they are far more powerful than they realize.
Sharing her perspective on women in leadership, Sanchita Mukherjee said, “Women in leadership for me I have been in the financial industry my entire career. I have been a private banker now in wealth management. We pay our own bills. And the day you start taking the steering wheels of your car is a day you start taking the steering wheel of your life. And you start paying your own bills.”
Kartikay Agarwal, CEO of GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, participated in a fireside chat at Shevolution, said that their institution had incubated 102 startups and over 50 per cent of them were led by women. He added, “I think female entrepreneurs and successful alumni are strong role models for all the students within the institute.”
The event culminated with a fireside chat featuring stellar actor Ashutosh Rana discussing the power of the feminine form and how men and women complement each other. He said, “They (men and women) are not competitors of each other but are complimentary to each other that is why Mahadev (Lord Shiva) portrayed himself as Ardhnarishwar (lord who is a half woman).”
