Emotional Tribute to Badi Didi by the Devotees of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat on Her 76th Birth Anniversary
Many recognize Sushri Dr. Vishakha Tripathi Ji (Badi Didi) and her beloved sisters, Sushri Dr. Shyama Tripathi Ji (Manjhli Didi) and Sushri Dr. Krishna Tripathi Ji (Chhoti Didi), as the daughters of the world’s fifth authentic Jagadguru, Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, and as the esteemed presidents of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat. They hold a very special place in our hearts, the Devotees of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat.
Badi Didi’s 76th birth anniversary brings forth a wave of bittersweet emotions. On one hand, we deeply feel the ache of her physical absence, an irreplaceable void. Yet, on the other, we cherish the countless memories of her boundless compassion, unconditional love, and motherly warmth that continue to guide us.
Who was Badi Didi to us? She was a nurturing mother who stood steadfast through every joy and sorrow, an affectionate elder sister who held our hands through life’s trials, a friend with whom we could share our hearts without hesitation, and a guiding light who steered our wandering minds toward the divine.
Eternal Companion: Our Badi Didi
Despite possessing absolute knowledge, she never manifested it. Instead, she conveyed Guru’s teachings in the simplest of words, always reminding us of our true refuge — our Guru. If anyone ever chanted “Badi Didi ki Jai,” she would lovingly correct them, saying, “I am just your Didi.”
The world knows the greatness of Shri Maharaj Ji — the ocean of divine knowledge and devotion who graced the world with the supreme love of Shri Radha-Krishna. Only those blessed by divine grace can bestow such love. Badi Didi, who remained by Shri Maharaj Ji’s side like a shadow, who understood the essence of his divine love, who was entrusted with his most sacred services, and who continued his mission even after his physical departure — who else could she be but someone truly extraordinary?
Badi Didi’s Compassion and Affection
After the divine departure of Amma Ji and Shri Maharaj Ji, the love and support of Badi Didi, Manjhli Didi, and Chhoti Didi became our greatest solace. Badi Didi never lived for herself — not even for a moment. She dedicated her entire existence to deepening our devotion to Shri Maharaj Ji.
Sushri Dr. Vishakha Tripathi Ji loved interacting with kids.
Her presence was a blessing to all, whether Indian or international devotees. She would personally greet everyone by name with a heartfelt “Radhe Radhe,” often making lighthearted remarks just to bring joy and laughter. Her love was not just spoken — it was felt in every gesture, every interaction. Even today, the warmth of her memory remains etched in our hearts, reminding us of her presence with every passing moment.
During sadhana shivirs (spiritual retreats), she met every devotee with profound love, inquiring about their well-being and remembering even the smallest details, no matter how much time had passed. Her limitless affection and care were driven by a singular purpose — to bring every soul closer to Hari and Guru.
A Guardian of the Trust and Ashrams
Badi Didi personally oversaw every detail of the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Trust and ashrams with the utmost dedication. Whether it was selecting items that would bring joy to the children, ensuring the best quality of resources, or choosing the most nourishing food, she left no stone unturned. She meticulously analyzed every decision, sought inputs from many, and always prioritized the well-being of others.
Multiple times a year, she would personally distribute specially ordered clothing to the ashram’s children, ensuring each garment fit perfectly and was suited for the season. She would lovingly interact with each child individually, making sure they had everything they needed. Which mother in the world could match the maternal care of Badi Didi?
Whether it was devotees, preachers, ashram residents, or office bearers, we all sought refuge in her affection. We never hesitated to approach her with even the smallest concerns, never once considering whether she was busy, tired, or unwell. We were simply bound by the deep love she showered upon us, lost in the joy of being in her company.
With unmatched patience, she listened to our worries, dispelled our doubts like a wise guardian, provided solutions with motherly care, and soothed our troubled hearts as if by magic. No matter how burdened we felt before meeting her, we always left her presence feeling at peace, inspired, and eager for more sewa.
The Illustrious Vishakha Sakhi
It is difficult to even utter the words that Badi Didi is no longer physically among us. Yet, we know exactly what would bring her the greatest joy. She repeatedly emphasized the importance of Guru Seva, urging us to immerse ourselves fully in service, strive to please our Guru, chant Radhe-Radhe with every breath, and always keep our minds absorbed in Hari-Guru.
Our dearest Badi Didi! The rest of our lives are dedicated to remembering your words and serving our Guru with renewed devotion. With complete faith, we proclaim that you have been, and will forever remain, our guiding light on this eternal journey of Guru Seva.
At the blessed moment of reunion with our Gurudev, it’s your guidance which will reveal to us the divine essence of his love, and instruct us in the art of serving him with deepest devotion. Because you, our dearest Badi Didi, are none other than the illustrious Vishakha Sakhi herself.
With infinite love and respect,
Devotees of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat
