NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for Karnataka’s high-stakes by-polls in Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna is underway. In Channapatna, an intense battle is unfolding between JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, and Congress’ C.P. Yogeshwara, a five-time MLA and former minister. Early trends show C.P. Yogeshwara taking a slight lead.
