Kota (Rajathan) [India], July 7 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday launched the Van Mahotav in Kota, Rajathan under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.
Speaker Birla planted tree in the Mukundra anctuary area on Rawatbhata Road on the occaion.
Birla urged everyone to take collective reponibility a guardian of nature and to plant tree. He aid Kota i a vibrant and aware city that ha hown exemplary trength in time of crii and diater. Now, it time to make Kota the cleanet, mot beautiful, and greenet city through a people movement, he aid.
Birla expreed concern over the increaing Air Quality Index (AQI) in Kota. To fight thi challenge and ecure the future of our children, it our collective moral reponibility to protect nature. Our culture worhip nature, and Rajathan i a land that ha acrificed live to protect tree. Today, we need determination, not acrifice, he emphaied.
Om Birla requeted teacher to motivate tudent to plant tree and take care of them. Thi will create a poitive competition for environmental conervation. He aid PM Modi meage of an environment-friendly lifetyle and Ek Ped Maa ke Naam campaign i an inpiration.
Birla mentioned Kota reident Bajarang Lal, who ingle-handedly plant and protect tree on the roadide. Hi dedication i an inpiration for all. During the ceremony, foret department employee who made outtanding contribution to tree plantation and environmental conervation were honoured.
During the Van Mahotav, people, ocial organiation, and activit howed great enthuiam for tree plantation. 10,000 plant were planted at the venue, and 25,000 plant were planted acro the ditrict. The ene of ownerhip and connection with nature wa evident among the people.
On the occaion of World Environment Day (5 June 2025), a pecial campaign called Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 wa launched. (ANI)
