‘Take one hour, not scared’: Owaisi to Navneet Rana’s ’15 second’ remark | India News

NEW DELHI: Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday reacted strongly to the remarks made by BJP’s Navneet Kaur Rana that 15 seconds would be enough to balance the “Hindu-Muslim ratio” in the country, if the police were removed. The AIMIM leader said that no one was stopping her from doing so and he is not scared of it.
Responding to Navneet Rana’s comments that 15 seconds was sufficient instead of 15 minutes, Owaisi said, “We will give time to them.What will they do? Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also in power. What 15 seconds, they can take one hour. Why don’t they do it?” he said.
“Do it. Who is preventing it? Who is afraid? We are prepared as well. Please inform us of the location, and we will definitely attend. You also have your Prime Minister located in Delhi. You also have RSS and everything belongs to you,” Owaisi said.
Responding to PM Modi’s comments that a vote for AIMIM would benefit Pakistan, Owaisi said that Modi met the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan directly from Afghanistan without an invitation.
The response comes after BJP leader Navneet Rana stirred a huge controversy by mentioning a provocative statement made by Akbaruddin Owaisi in 2013. Rana responding to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 2013 provocative statement, said “it would take us 15 seconds if the police were removed or made to stand down”.
In a campaign for BJP’s Hyderabad contestant Madhavi Latha, Rana said, “Akbaruddin, the younger brother of Hyderabad-based candidate had said remove the police for 15 minutes so that we can show them what we can do… I want to tell Akbaruddin that it might take you 15 minutes, but it will only take us 15 seconds.”
She said that the Owaisi brothers would find it difficult to identify their starting point and endpoint within a 15-second period. Rana called Latha a ‘lioness’, adding that the latter would stop Hyderabad from turning into Pakistan.
The BJP has selected Madhavi Latha as a candidate to run against Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi, a four-time Lok Sabha MP and the chief of AIMIM, represents the Hyderabad constituency. Owaisi has been the representative for the Hyderabad constituency since 2004.
